Cedric Kaze said Kaze said youngsters were not to blame for Kaizer Chiefs' 1-0 loss to Chippa United
Kaze said the youngsters deserved an opportunity to play as they did not play much
Cedric Kaze cited lack of game time as the reason he fielded a much younger team in the Kaizer Chiefs starting line up.
Mfundo Vilakazi, Luke Baartman, Naledi Hlongwane and Takalani Mazhamba all started against Chippa United yesterday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Chiefs lost the game 1-0 to the Chili Boys.
“The youngsters didn’t have a lot of minutes during the season, but as well we want to give them minutes for them to get confidence, to get experience, and to go up as well," he said after the game.
“We were a little bit victims of transition counter-attack and we couldn’t manage well.”
Chiefs loss did not make much of a difference as they entered the Durban venue having already secured their third place in the Betway Premiership standings.
