Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze reveals his World Cup wish for Brandon Peterson
Cedric Kaze has give Hugo Broos the profile of Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Peterson for the Bafana Bafana coach to consider the goal-minder for the World Cup.
The Amakhosi coach believes the goalkeeper deserves a place in Bafana Bafana's flight to the USA for the global showpiece.
Kaze is right.
The former Bidvest Wits shot-stopper has been the difference between defeats and Chiefs this season.
His displays warrants a call up and he also showed such qualities yesterday when Chiefs won 1-0 against AmaZulu in a Betway Premiership match.
“I just wish to see Brendon Petersen going to the World Cup because he deserves it by the qualities that he has shown and as well the consistency that he has shown throughout the season,” said Kaze after the game at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Asked what has changed about Petersen this season, Kaze noted that the former Bidvest Wits shot-stopper has benefited from regular playing time in this campaign.
Broos has always mentioned how much he likes players who are a good influence in the Bafana team on and off the field which is something Kaze said Peterson is great at.
“He is a player with tremendous human being qualities before being a player and I am very happy that this is happening to him, and he deserves everything that is happening to him,” added Kaze.
“I would say that what has changed as well is first is the number of minutes because he didn’t play much last season.”
“He played in the final of the Nedbank Cup, this season he got a lot of time and as well he is a player that works hard, he trains every day with the same attitude, with the same energy and I would like to say to the players that good things happen to good people."
Chiefs have secured the third spot on the standings face Chippa United at home next week in their last PSL match of the season.
