Arsenal are considering parting ways with Martin Ødegaard in 2027. According to Sky Germany, the London club are ready to sell their captain if the two sides fail to agree on a contract extension. The Norwegian’s current deal runs until the summer of 2028, so the club’s hierarchy does not want to risk losing him for free.

Arsenal have already held preliminary talks with the player’s representatives over a new contract. Negotiations with the captain have been encouraging so far, and the two sides are expected to reach an agreement after all.

However, should the talks break down, the Londoners will not try to keep the midfielder until the end of his contract. In the summer of 2027, Ødegaard will have just one year left on his deal, so Arsenal would prefer to generate a fee from his sale rather than lose him for nothing.

Bayern Munich have been touted as one possible destination for the Norwegian. According to Sky Germany, contacts between representatives of the German giants and the player’s camp have been maintained for several years. Moreover, Ødegaard himself does not rule out the possibility of playing for the Munich club one day.
