Miguel Cardoso has set a new record and matched another monumental achievement CAF Champions League. This happened in the second leg of the semi-final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Esperance.
The South African champions secured a 2-0 aggregate victory and, for the second consecutive time under Cardoso's leadership, advanced to the final. He has become the first coach to achieve this feat at the helm of the "Brazilians."
Moreover, the Portuguese tactician has now guided his team to the tournament's final for a third consecutive season—a remarkable accomplishment previously achieved only by the likes of Manuel José and Pitso Mosimane. Notably, Cardoso suffered defeats in both of his previous final appearances.
