Nigeria took a commanding 2-0 lead into half-time against Mozambique in their AFCON round-of-16 encounter in Fez, Morocco, thanks to goals from Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen.

The Super Eagles started brightly and broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Lookman finished off a flowing team move. Five minutes later, Osimhen doubled the advantage, reacting quickest to poke home after a deflected cross. Nigeria continued to dominate possession and chances, with Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman all going close to extending the lead.

Mozambique showed brief resistance through isolated counter-attacks, but Nigeria’s defence remained solid. The two goals took Nigeria’s tournament tally to 10, joint-highest at AFCON 2025.
