Great news for Barcelona! Hansi Flick has received a long-awaited boost ahead of the Catalans' return to La Liga action.

Details: Barcelona have officially confirmed that goalkeeper Joan Garcia has received medical clearance and is available for selection for today's match against Getafe. The Spanish shot-stopper has been included in Hansi Flick's 22-man squad for the encounter at Spotify Camp Nou.

Garcia had been sidelined since September 17, when he experienced discomfort in his right knee during the La Liga match against Racing Santander. The goalkeeper was forced to leave the pitch at half-time and subsequently missed Barcelona's clash with Sevilla.

Now the medical staff have given the green light for his return, meaning Flick can once again rely on his first-choice goalkeeper. However, his inclusion in the squad does not necessarily guarantee a place in the starting lineup.

Barcelona will still be without several important players. Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen and Roony Bardghji are all unavailable for the encounter with Getafe.

It's worth noting that Barcelona have won all seven of their opening La Liga matches this season, collecting 21 points and sitting at the top of the standings ahead of matchday eight.

Reminder: Will Raphinha play against Getafe? The answer is becoming clear
