FIFA slashes quarter-final ticket prices for Club World Cup by tenfold

Even before the start of the Club World Cup, FIFA was struggling with a lack of interest in the tournament’s matches, and the problem persists even in the later stages.
Details: According to The Athletic, the world football governing body was forced to slash quarter-final ticket prices by as much as ten times. Even the highly anticipated Bayern vs PSG clash failed to generate much buzz, prompting FIFA to drop the cheapest ticket to around $45.

Tickets for other matches are even more affordable: Fluminense vs Al Hilal start at $11, Chelsea vs Palmeiras from $22. The most sought-after fixture remains Real Madrid vs Borussia, where tickets start at $130. Semi-finals and the final are still pricey: semi-finals range from $473 to $978, and the final costs at least $892.
Reminder: FIFA claims an average attendance of 35,000 per match (over 2 million for the entire tournament). However, many games have been played in half-empty stadiums, especially during the early rounds.
