Egypt, Nigeria Clash for AFCON Bronze

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medal will be decided on Saturday as Egypt and Nigeria face off in the third-place playoff at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca. Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm CAT.

Nigeria arrived in Morocco as favourites after winning their first five matches and scoring a tournament-high 14 goals. Their run ended in the semi-finals against hosts Morocco, who restricted them to two shots in 120 minutes before winning 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw.

“Losing on penalties is very painful… but that’s football,” Eric Chelle said, adding that “The African Cup [of Nations] is not finished… we have to win this game.”

Seven-time champions Egypt reached the semi-finals unbeaten but lost to Senegal.
