The Egyptian Anti-Doping Organization (EGY NADO) has officially denied reports suggesting that a verdict date has been set in the ongoing doping case involving Pyramids FC star Ramadan Sobhi and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
No Verdict Set – Investigation Ongoing
In a statement issued on Wednesday, EGY NADO rejected claims that May 19 had been confirmed as the date for a ruling by CAS in a case reportedly filed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against both the player and the organization.
“The case is still under investigation,” EGY NADO clarified. “No final decision has been issued, and any information suggesting otherwise is inaccurate.”
Ramadan Sobhi was temporarily suspended earlier following doping-related allegations, including sample tampering, but the ban was lifted after a preliminary hearing.
Egypt’s Global Anti-Doping Reputation Intact
EGY NADO further emphasized that Egypt remains in good standing within the global anti-doping framework, stating:
“Egypt is among the most compliant national anti-doping organizations globally, and there are no threats to its anti-doping reputation.”
The organization urged the public and media to consult WADA’s official website for verified updates and to avoid spreading misinformation.
