He travelled to Saudi Arabia to have his injury assessed
The Senegalese goalkeeper hopes to play again if Senegal qualify for the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
Having suffered a knee injury on the second day of the group stage, Edouard Mendy travelled to his club, Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, to have it assessed. However, the Senegalese goalkeeper will be back in the United States before the round of 32 match between his country, Senegal, and Belgium.
After having his injury assessed by Al-Ahli, Edouard Mendy has decided to rejoin his team-mates for Wednesday’s match. The 34-year-old Senegalese goalkeeper hopes to return to action if Senegal progress to the round of 16 of the World Cup, which is being held jointly in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
