Dovbyk's replacement? Girona sign Spanish forward from Portugal

Girona appears to be preparing for the inevitable departure of La Liga's top scorer, Artem Dovbyk.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Girona will soon sign Spanish forward Abel Ruiz from Braga. The 24-year-old player will arrive in Catalonia this week for a medical examination and to sign a five-year contract.

Girona will pay Braga 8.5 million euros for the transfer of Ruiz. Additionally, Girona winger Gabri Martinez, who spent last season on loan at Mirandés, will move to Braga as part of the deal.

In the past season, Abel Ruiz scored 8 goals in 48 matches across all competitions.

Throughout his career, Abel Ruiz has made 2 appearances for the Spanish national team and scored 14 goals in 28 games for Spain U-21.
