Divine Lunga believes Mamelodi Sundowns can put to end their PSL mishap behind by winning the Caf Champions Leaggue
Divine Lunga expects his Mamelodi SUndowns team to put behind the Betway Premiership disappointment in order to do well in the Caf Champions League final.
Sundowns face Morocco's ASFAR tomorrow in the first leg final of this season's Caf final at the backdrop of a 3-2 loss to TS Galaxy, which effectively weakened the PSL title chase.
The Zimbabwean-born left-back believes the loss to Galaxy is all part of the game which they need to embrace and forget going into the game at Loftus.
“Losing is part of football, but after the match the coach spoke to us to pick us up,” said Lunga after training at Chloorkop.
“I think the guys are in the good mood cause you have to understand that in football you lose, draw and win. We will do our best.”
The match against the North Africans will be Sundowns' second final appearance in two years in the continental competition having lost to Egyptian side Pyramids last season.
Lunga said they have had a lot of near misses in this competition and that this season they have to get it right.
“We have been playing semis, the final and that has been pushing us to bring the trophy home,” he added.
“It’s been a decade and we need it this season, more than anything cause last season we were there. We will push ourselves, put our A game to try and win the match.”
The match starts at 4pm.
