We’re in for an electrifying showdown, and Simeone is determined to leave nothing to chance.
Details: According to The Touchline, Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone pulled off an unexpected move before the crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against London’s Arsenal.
Reports suggest that Atletico were initially set to stay at the same hotel they used back in October, when the "Colchoneros" faced Arsenal in the third round of the group stage and suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat.
Simeone saw a pattern in this and insisted the team change hotels at the very last moment. As a result, the squad had to pack up and move to a different hotel just minutes before check-in.
When asked by reporters about the reasoning behind the switch, Simeone simply stated that the new hotel was cheaper, dismissing any conspiracy theories about superstition.
The first leg between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid ended in a 1-1 draw.
For the record: Grand milestone. Diego Simeone reaches a historic mark
