Concerns remain over Edouard Mendy ahead of the 2026 World Cup round of 32
He was injured during the match against Norway
The Senegalese goalkeeper has travelled to Saudi Arabia for medical tests following the injury he sustained a few days ago.
Senegal face Belgium on 1 July in the round of 32 of the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. However, the Lions of Teranga are not yet certain they will be able to count on their goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, for this clash.
Having sustained a knee injury during the second group stage match against Norway, the goalkeeper is reportedly not yet recovered. Edouard Mendy has even left the Senegal camp in the United States to travel to his club, Al-Ahli, in Saudi Arabia to undergo further medical tests. Consequently, his participation in the round of 32 appears to be in doubt.
