Having picked up an injury on the opening day of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Cameroonian striker could be available for the international friendly against Ivory Coast, scheduled for Saturday 3 October at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium.

Christian Kofane was forced to leave the pitch at half-time during Cameroon’s 3–1 victory over the Comoros on 24 September in Garoua. Medical examinations carried out after the match revealed a minor strain.

This injury had forced the Bayer Leverkusen striker to withdraw from matchday two of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo in Brazzaville. However, the news is now reassuring. The 20-year-old has resumed training with the Cameroon squad currently in Abidjan ahead of the match against the Elephants.

Manager David Pagou could therefore count on Christian Kofane for this friendly match. Better still, the striker could even start the match against Ivory Coast, a prospect that would confirm his return to action after a few days on the sidelines.
