Ivory Coast’s official line-up against Cameroon revealed

The Elephants are set to face the Indomitable Lions in a few moments’ time at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium.

This international friendly is generating a lot of excitement in Abidjan. The two teams know each other inside out. Ivory Coast and Cameroon have faced each other several times throughout their history.

Their last meeting at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco, ended in a 1–1 draw. However, Cameroon and Ivory Coast have faced each other 19 times since 1970.

These encounters have resulted in nine wins for the Indomitable Lions, six for the Elephants and four draws. But Hervé Renard’s side arrive at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium this evening on the back of a perfect start to their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Elephants have secured two wins from two matches.

Against the Indomitable Lions, Hervé Renard has reshuffled his starting XI. Alban Lafont replaces Yahia Fofana in goal. Franck Kessié has been left on the bench and the captain’s armband has been handed to Ibrahim Sangare. Yan Diomandé, Elye Wahi and Malick Yalcouyé are not in the starting line-up.
