Cameroon beat Ivory Coast in Abidjan
Bil Nsongo secured victory for the Indomitable Lions against the Elephants at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium in their friendly match.
The international friendly between Cameroon and Ivory Coast, played on Saturday 3 October in Abidjan, lived up to all expectations. The two sides fought a fierce battle during the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The defences had the upper hand and the two sides went into the break with the score goalless. After the break, Cameroon quickly broke the deadlock.
In the 46th minute, Bil Nsongo opened the scoring for the Indomitable Lions. The Cameroonian striker was set up perfectly by Arthur Avom before finishing to give his side a 1–0 lead.
Ivory Coast tried to get back into the game, but the Elephants were unable to find a way through. No further goals were scored until the final whistle. Cameroon therefore won 1–0 and continued their dominance in matches against Côte d’Ivoire.
In 20 head-to-head matches since 1970, the Indomitable Lions now have 10 wins against the Elephants.
