Chicago Fire announces capture of Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi
Mbekezeli Mbokazi is now officially a Chicago Fire player.
Mbokazi is no longer an Orlando Pirates defender as he was announced by the MLS club today.
"We are excited to welcome Mbekezeli to the club as we further strengthen our back line," said Chicago Fire director of football and head coach Gregg Berhalter.
"In his young career, he has already shown high potential and proven himself to be a strong leader and competitor on the international level. We expect immediate impact and room to grow in the future."
Mbokazi played his last game for Pirates on Saturday when they beat Durban City 2-0 in a Betway Premiership match.
This week he was also announced as part of the 25-man headed to Morocco for the latest edition of the Africa Cup of Nations which starts on 21 December until 18 January.
