Oswin Appollis on Orlando Pirates 2-1 victory against Polokwane City: It was a very difficult game to play but we are happy we won it at the end
Oswin Appollis is pleased that Orlando Pirates managed to beat Polokwane City in midweek.
Appollis, who was playing against his former side, said it’s always challenging to face a side as strong as Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership.
Pirates won the game via a Relebohile Mofokeng and Patrick Maswanganyi goals to ensure they stay on the top of the PSL standings as the league charge intensifies.
“Polokwane is a very difficult team, always when we face them it’s been a challenge, but we manage to always score,” he told Orlando Pirates TV.
“During the week the coach said it will be a difficult game and like you saw today (Wednesday), the boys put in more effort.
“We managed to control the game and we managed to score.
“But most importantly it’s us being patient and that is what we did, and we managed to score the two goals.
“When they equalized, there wasn’t panic. The boys kept the ball; we move it around.
“We knew we gonna get chances but well done to Tito (Patrick Maswanganyi) and Deon Hotto.
“But overall, I wanna congrats the whole team for putting in the effort for the win.”
