Calila Boosts Mambas as Nigeria Clash Nears

Mozambique have received a major boost ahead of their AFCON round of 16 meeting with Nigeria after defender Diogo Calila was declared fit. A medical update confirmed Calila is available for selection, with his recovery described as remarkably swift after treatment in Porto. Team doctor Mussa Calú said the procedure was effective, allowing him to resume activity “without complications”… and return to full training on Sunday.

However, the news is less positive for Edmilson Dove and Nené. Both picked up injuries against Cameroon and will miss the knockout tie. Nené remains under treatment and skipped training, while Dove was ruled out with ligament damage.
