CAF Champions League: Finidi George and Rivers United Crash Out After 4–1 Loss to Pyramids
Finidi George’s Rivers United have exited the CAF Champions League without a win after suffering a 4–1 defeat to Egyptian side Pyramids FC on Sunday at the Port Harcourt Stadium.
Rivers United took an early lead through Stephen Manyo in the first half, but the visitors responded strongly. Goals from Mostafa Fathi, a penalty by Marwan Hamdi, Odeh Al Fakhouri, and Nasser Maher completed a dominant comeback for Pyramids.
The Port Harcourt-based club have now lost four of their five group matches and sit bottom of Group A with just one point, bringing an end to their Champions League campaign.
