The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended Egypt midfielder Marwan Attia and forward Salah Mohsen ahead of the playoff against Nigeria. CAF said the bans stem from post-match conduct, including gestures by Attia suggesting referees had been bribed and mocking gestures by Mohsen toward Senegalese journalists.
Both players will miss the Egypt-Nigeria game in Casablanca and remain suspended for Egypt’s next CAF fixture. Attia has featured in four matches, scoring once and assisting once, while Mohsen appeared in the group-stage finale against Angola as captain.
