Breaking! Barcelona set to extend contract with their leader
Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Raphinha to extend his contract. According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the new deal will run until 2029, with the signing expected to take place in the near future. Club director Deco also confirmed that the parties have already agreed to continue their cooperation.
Raphinha has played for Barcelona since the summer of 2022, when he joined from Leeds United. The Brazilian spent two seasons at the English club, having previously played for Rennes, Sporting, Vitória de Guimarães and Avaí. It was at Sporting that he won his first major team trophies, lifting the Portuguese Cup and the Taça da Liga in the 2018/19 season.
With Barcelona, Raphinha has already won La Liga three times, lifted the Spanish Super Cup three times and claimed the Copa del Rey. The 2024/25 season was particularly outstanding for him: the Brazilian scored 34 goals and provided 25 assists in 56 matches across all competitions.
