Bandile Shandu waiting on Betway Premiership side Orlando Pirates on whether he will receive a contract renewal or not on his current deal
Bandile Shandu will during the course of this week if he will remain an Orlando Pirates player or not beyond June.
The right-back’s current deal at the Soweto side expires in six months’ time and the player is yet to hear if he will granted an extension to his deal of not.
But his agent Mike Makaab disclosed that as Shandu’s agency they are engaging the Pirates management regarding their client’s deal.
“Bandile, his contract is expiring at the end of the season,” Makaab told iDiski Times.
“But I’m engaged in discussions with Orlando Pirates. This week, we’ll know exactly where we stand.”
Shandu has been with Pirates for the past six seasons having joined from defunct Maritzburg United but has not cemented his place in the team.
During his time at the Kwa-Zulu Natal club, Shandu played a midfielder but that changed when he joined Pirates.
For his six seasons at the Sea Robbers, the 31-year-old has played as a right-back.
It will be interesting to see if the club will grant him a new deal as they have Thabiso Lebitso and Deno Van Rooyen at right-back competing with Shandu.
