ASFAR coach Alexandre Santos sends a warning to Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of tomorrow's final
Alexandre Santos is aware of the Mamelodi Sundowns pedigree on continental football but also highlighted his ASFAR side are confident ahead of tomorrow's final.
Santos' ASFAR are in South Africa for the Caf Champions League first leg final tomorrow at Loftus Verveld against the Betway Premiership side.
This game is under a huge microscope as its the continent's finest teams playing the ultimate phase of the competition.
Santos said he is aware of what Sundowns are capable of yet he is confident his North African troops can cause an upset.
“They control opponents, it’s clear they are one of the best teams in Africa, we need to be perfect and strong collectively. But we’re confident,” said Santos.
Santos already sees his side lifting the trophy in front of their home crowd in Rabat, Morocco, in the return leg.
“We will go to the pitch to show how good we are, we will fight and do our best, we need to counter the strengths of Sundowns, and when they arrive in Rabat, we want to pick up the cup and celebrate with our supporters,” said Santos.
“This is just going to be the first half, I’m confident we can do that.”
The match starts at 4pm.
