Asanele Velebayi: The more games I play the easy it becomes to regain my confidence so I can deliver the expected performances for Kaizer Chiefs
Asanele Velebayi seems to have burying the legal ghost which nearly derailed his Kaizer Chiefs career.
The former Cape Town Spurs midfielder joined Amakhosi in the off-season following the relegation of Cape Town Spurs from the National First Division.
But Spurs launched a legal bid to have him declared their player despite that the Cape side had now become an amateur team.
The Urban Warriors lost that case to open way for the speedy winger to earn his spurs in a Chiefs shirt.
“For me personally, I’m taking it game-by-game,” he said.
“My confidence is slowly building up like compared to when I made my debut where I was like a little bit nervous.
“So, it’s learning every day, adapting. The more I get the minutes, the more I get the confidence.
“I must say I’m adapting like very good at the club.”
Tomorrow Velebayi’s Chiefs face TS Galaxy in Mpumalanga aiming to finish the year on high following a goalless draw against Chippa United midweek.
Chiefs are fifth with 23 points while Galaxy are eighth with three points less than Amakhosi.
The game starts at 3.30pm.
