As Paraguay hosts FIFA officials for a historic congress, Argentina has taken a bold security step ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup. According to Perfil, Security Minister Patricia Bullrich announced Monday that her office has submitted a list of 15,000 individuals with stadium bans in Argentina to U.S. authorities, aiming to block their access to tournament venues across the country.

“No violent offender, extortionist, or criminal should be allowed into this World Cup,” Bullrich stated during a press conference where she symbolically handed over the list to Abigail Dressel, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires.

The names were compiled through the Tribuna Segura program, a national initiative that monitored over 1,300 matches in 2024 and flagged more than 6,000 individuals with a history of stadium violence, including 1,166 with outstanding arrest warrants.

The move aligns with a bilateral agreement signed with the Trump administration and underscores a growing focus on international sports security. The 2025 Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 13 in the United States, with Argentine clubs River Plate and Boca Juniors among the 32 participants.

Bullrich noted that while her ministry doesn’t have access to visa statuses, U.S. immigration authorities will perform the necessary cross-checks. “They are very strict about immigration, and they’ll handle the screening,” she concluded.
