Nigeria will open their Africa Cup of Nations campaign against Tanzania on Tuesday as Group C action begins in Fez. The Super Eagles have stepped up training as they look to bounce back after failing to qualify for next year’s World Cup. Three-time champions Nigeria are seen as favourites and will also play Tunisia and Uganda in the group.
Tanzania are also preparing for the clash, their third AFCON appearance. They arrive with interim coach Miguel Gamondi, appointed a month ago after Hemed Suleiman was dismissed.
Nigeria last beat Tanzania 1-0 at AFCON 2016. Kick-off is 6.30pm local time there.
