AFCON 2025: Super Eagles To Face Mozambique in Knockout Clash

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have learned their opponents for the AFCON 2025 Round of 16 following the conclusion of Group F matches. Group C winners Nigeria will take on Mozambique, who finished third in Group F and qualified among the best third-placed teams.

Nigeria had sealed qualification by matchday two and dominated their group, winning all games to secure a favourable draw. Results elsewhere confirmed Mozambique’s place after Gabon lost 3-2 to Cote d’Ivoire, while Madagascar’s 2-1 defeat had little effect on goal difference.

The Round of 16 clash will be played on Monday, January 1, 2026, at the Fez Stadium, where Nigeria played their group matches.
