AFCON 2025: Oliseh Warns Eagles Against Underestimating Mozambique

Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has warned Nigeria against underrating Mozambique ahead of their AFCON Round of 16 clash, insisting the Mambas are tactically dangerous. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Oliseh said complacency could send Nigeria packing, stressing that “anybody that underrates Mozambique should be ready to pick up the flight ticket back home.”

He described Mozambique as organised and disciplined, adding that beating them would demand focus and tactical awareness. “This is a good team… Tactically, what is going to come at Super Eagles is not going to be easy,” he noted.

Oliseh also addressed Victor Osimhen’s modest goal return, backing the striker’s overall impact. “He wants to score… but what he's been doing… he was looking to be more collective,” he said. According to Oliseh, Osimhen’s link-up play strengthens Nigeria. “He scored only one goal and we got to the final… let him score one goal.”
