AFCON 2025: Ndidi Confident as Super Eagles Prepare for Tanzania Opener
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has assured fans that the Nigerian national team is calm, focused, and ready for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The midfielder confirmed that the squad is fully prepared for their Group C opening match against Tanzania.
Speaking at Monday’s pre-match press conference, Ndidi highlighted the positive atmosphere in the team’s camp.
“The spirit in the camp is very high; we’re very energised. This game is very important for us because it sets the momentum,” he said.
He emphasized that both players and staff are fully focused on making a strong start to the tournament.
“Everyone is ready—from the players to the staff. Everyone is focused on this game, and we know how important it is.”
Ndidi also made it clear that the Super Eagles are not feeling any pressure ahead of the tournament, despite high expectations.
“To be honest, there’s no pressure. We have senior players in the team working together with the coach and the manager,” he explained.
“I’ve been in the system long before becoming captain, so there’s really no pressure.”
