Moroccan authorities have arrested eight individuals across multiple cities for allegedly engaging in the illegal resale of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match tickets. The tournament, hosted in Morocco, runs from 21 December to 18 January.
According to media reports, the case came to light after social media monitoring reportedly detected posts offering AFCON tickets for sale through unofficial channels. Following these reports, police are said to have conducted investigations and operations in the field to identify the suspects.
The arrests reportedly took place in Rabat, Temara, Agadir, Salé, Marrakech, and Mohammedia, with the individuals now under judicial investigation.
