AFCON 2025: Cold Tests Tanzania Ahead of Super Eagles Showdown
Tanzania head coach Adel Amrouche has revealed that some of his players are battling the cold conditions in Morocco ahead of their AFCON 2025 Group C opener against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Fes.
The Taifa Stars will kick off their campaign on Tuesday in Fes, one of the coldest host cities, and will also face Tunisia in what promises to be a tough group.
Weather conditions are expected to influence the tournament, with most cities recording daytime temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, while nights are much colder. Fes is forecast to peak at around 14 degrees during the day, with temperatures dropping to about six degrees at night.
Speaking after training in Rabat, Amrouche said, “It’s not a problem because the weather is the same for everybody… some players are suffering a bit from the cold, but we need to adapt… It’s not an excuse; it’s part of the job.”
He added that preparation has been good and the camp spirit positive.
