The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the team finishing third at the tournament will not receive their bronze medals immediately after the playoff match.

Instead, the bronze medal winners will be required to travel to Rabat on Sunday, where the official medal presentation ceremony will take place as part of the tournament’s closing events.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to face the Pharaohs of Egypt in the third-place playoff on Saturday in Casablanca. Both sides are coming into the encounter after suffering defeats in their respective semi-final matches.

CAF explained that the decision means the bronze medal presentation will be held separately from the third-place match. The medals will be awarded in Rabat alongside other end-of-tournament ceremonies, marking the formal conclusion of the competition.
