Achraf Hakimi expects a tough match against the Netherlands in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup

The captain of the Moroccan national team is not underestimating the Dutch side, which is no stranger to major international tournaments.

Morocco will face the Netherlands in the round of 32 of the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. But ahead of this fixture, scheduled for 30 June, Achraf Hakimi has commented on the clash.

In an interview with ABtalks, the captain of the Atlas Lions emphasised that the slightest detail could tip the balance in this match. He urged his team-mates to remain focused right to the end against an opponent boasting talented players.

“It’ll be a tough match against the Netherlands. Everyone knows their quality and their players. It’ll come down to the small details. We’ll need to be ready and focused from start to finish.”
