Algeria's national team is putting on a commanding performance in their third-round Africa Cup of Nations clash against Equatorial Guinea. By halftime, the Desert Foxes are leading 3-0, having secured a three-goal advantage in the first 45 minutes. Algeria has only achieved this feat twice before.
Details: This is just the third time in Algeria's Africa Cup of Nations history that the team has gone into the break with a three-goal lead.
Previously, Algeria managed this in a match against Malawi on March 5, 1984 (3-0), and again versus Tanzania on July 1, 2019 (3-0).
It's worth noting that Algeria has already secured top spot in the group and will face DR Congo in the playoffs. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, January 6.
Reminder: Tanzania became the first team to reach the Africa Cup of Nations playoffs with just two points.
