The future of Arne Slot at Liverpool is becoming increasingly uncertain, so it's no surprise that rumors about the Dutch manager's imminent dismissal are surfacing more and more often.
The Reds' management has yet to make a final decision regarding Slot, but each new setback could prove decisive for the coach. According to De Telegraaf, should Slot be sacked, Liverpool would have to pay out £10 million—the amount the Dutchman is owed under his current contract, which runs until 2027.
For the record, Slot took charge last summer, replacing Jürgen Klopp, and in his debut season he unexpectedly led the Reds to the Premier League title. However, the current campaign has turned out to be extremely challenging for the Merseysiders.
Despite strengthening the squad with the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Florian Wirtz, results have fallen well short of expectations. The team has lost nine of its last 13 matches and sits only eighth in the Premier League table.
