Michael Olise is turning this tournament into his own personal assist showcase.

Details: The French midfielder racked up two assists in the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 clash against Sweden. Les Bleus cruised to a confident 3-0 victory.

First, the Bayern star set up Bradley Barcola in the 53rd minute, then 19 minutes later provided the assist for Kylian Mbappé to seal the final score. These were Olise's fourth and fifth assists of this World Cup.

With this feat, Michael becomes the first player since 1994 to register five assists in a single World Cup tournament. The last to achieve this was Germany's Thomas Häßler at USA '94.

Only the legendary Pelé has delivered more assists at a single World Cup—six, back in the 1970 edition.

It's worth noting that Olise is currently the top assist provider at the 2026 World Cup. His closest challenger, Bruno Guimarães, has four assists.

Reminder: Real Madrid put three stars up for sale to fund Michael Olise transfer.
