A 25,000-seat stadium. UEFA's Super Cup decision sparks wave of outrage

UEFA's decision to stage the European Super Cup in Udine has triggered a storm of reactions among fans, as the Stadio Friuli holds only about 25,000 spectators. Many supporters have deemed the move odd and ill-suited for such a major fixture, reports Sport Bible.
Despite Udine's picturesque location and cultural significance, fans see the limited stadium capacity as the main issue. Social media has been flooded with sarcastic comments: some wonder how fans will even get tickets, while others mockingly compare Friuli to Brentford's small ground.
The contrast is especially stark when compared to the home grounds of the finalists: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seats over 62,000, San Siro up to 75,000, and Parc des Princes around 48,000. Against this backdrop, UEFA's choice appears highly questionable and has sparked a flurry of questions from football fans everywhere.
To recap, UEFA earlier announced that the 2025 European Super Cup will take place on August 13 at the Stadio Friuli in Italy. The match will see the Champions League winner—either PSG or Inter—face off against Tottenham, who claimed the Europa League crown.
