Nigeria 3-3 Russia: Super Eagles Fight Back to Earn Draw in International Friendly Nigeria 3-3 Russia: Super Eagles Fight Back to Earn Draw in International Friendly

Nigeria staged a late comeback to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against Russia in their international friendly at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles made a bright start and took the lead in the 10th minute through Kelechi Iheanacho, who produced a composed finish from the edge of the penalty area.

Russia responded in the 30th minute when Kislyak set up Sadulaev, who made no mistake with the finish to bring the hosts level.

The home side then completed the turnaround just before half-time. Kislyak reacted quickest to a deflected cross in stoppage time and calmly guided the ball into the far corner to put Russia 2-1 ahead at the break.

Russia increased their advantage after the restart, with Aleksei Miranchuk adding a third goal to put the hosts in a commanding position.

However, Nigeria refused to give up and produced a strong response in the closing stages.

Peter Edokpolor pulled one back for the Super Eagles before Akor Adams struck late to complete the comeback and secure a 3-3 draw.

The result saw Nigeria avoid another defeat after their recent setback against Guinea-Bissau, with Eric Chelle’s side showing character to fight back from two goals down against Russia.
