Senegal have become the latest African nation to bow out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after their defeat to Belgium in the Round of 32.

The Lions of Teranga were unable to overcome the Red Devils, ending their hopes of progressing to the Round of 16 and reducing Africa's representation in the tournament.

With Senegal's elimination, the number of African teams knocked out of the competition has now risen to five. They join DR Congo, Tunisia, South Africa, and Ivory Coast, all of whom have already seen their World Cup campaigns come to an end.
