Yuri Alberto Stays Put as Corinthians Search for Right-Back Options Stalls

Corinthians have declared striker Yuri Alberto “non-negotiable,” especially after his recent injury made a potential transfer unlikely. According to journalist Lívia Camillo and columnist André Hernan on De Primeira, the forward remains a key figure for the club and is expected to stay for the rest of the season. “Yuri is hugely important to this squad,” Camillo said, noting that his recovery is now the club’s top priority.
While Yuri initially had plans for a possible move earlier in the season, the injury derailed that expectation. The club’s staff and coaching team are fully committed to his rehabilitation and return to the pitch.
On the right-back front, Corinthians had shown interest in São Paulo’s Igor Vinícius as a backup for Matheuzinho. However, talks have cooled. According to Hernan, internal evaluations suggest that the fierce rivalry with São Paulo has become a significant obstacle in negotiations, and the player appears closer to joining another Série A club.
With Yuri sidelined and right-back recruitment proving tricky, Corinthians are focusing on internal stability and the long-term recovery of their key players.
