You always have to find something! José Mourinho hits back at the press over Kylian Mbappé

The legendary Portuguese coach delivered a pointed verbal dressing-down to journalists at his pre-match press conference.

Details: Experienced manager José Mourinho reacted emotionally and uncompromisingly to a question from the media about whether Real Madrid supporters could voice their displeasure at forward Kylian Mbappé during the upcoming clash with Villarreal.

The Portuguese manager lashed out at reporters, accusing the press of constantly hunting for cheap sensations:

“If the fans really start booing, it will be a huge victory for you. Even massive stories like the Manchester City case, the old legal issues, or the incredibly difficult crisis in my home country involving Cristiano Ronaldo and his coach were not enough to satisfy the appetite of your profession.”

The Special One stressed that the media were deliberately shifting the focus away from the footballing essence of the contest and toward off-field intrigue:

“Real Madrid is Real Madrid, and you always have to find something. I naively hoped that the very first question would be related to reality — to the fact that we are facing an extremely difficult tactical battle. But instead, you start with topics like these.”

It is worth noting that José Mourinho successfully managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, leading Los Blancos to the Spanish La Liga title with a historic record of 100 points, as well as the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

Reminder: What?! Is Modrić coming back to Real Madrid?
