What?! Is Modrić coming back to Real Madrid?

Luka Modrić's extraordinary story with Real Madrid might not be over just yet.

Details: According to Fichajes, the 41-year-old Croatian midfielder wants to return to Real Madrid once he hangs up his boots. However, Modrić is not interested in a symbolic position at the club. He would like to take on a clearly defined role with specific responsibilities, allowing him to make a genuine contribution to the Spanish giants.

The experienced midfielder reiterated his desire following Croatia's defeat against Spain. However, he acknowledged that any potential reunion would also depend on whether Real Madrid are interested in bringing him back. At present, there are no negotiations between the parties regarding a future position.

For now, Modrić remains fully focused on his playing career at AC Milan. The Italian club extended his contract this summer, with his current deal running until June 30, 2027. The Croatian has not announced an official retirement date and intends to continue competing at the highest level.

It's worth noting that Modrić spent 13 seasons at Real Madrid before leaving in 2025. During that remarkable period, he won 28 trophies, including six Champions League titles, and established himself as one of the most decorated players in the club's history. He also claimed the prestigious Ballon d'Or in 2018.
