Wout Weghorst's goal against Poland has entered Dutch national team history

The Netherlands started Euro 2024 successfully by defeating Poland in their first group stage match. Substitute forward Wout Weghorst scored the winning goal for the "Oranje."

This goal by the 31-year-old striker has entered Dutch national team history at the European Championships. Weghorst scored just 2 minutes and 18 seconds after coming on as a substitute, making it the fastest goal scored by a substitute player for the Netherlands in European Championship history.

Additionally, Weghorst has now scored in all major international tournaments for his national team, having previously scored at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.
