The Ghanaian forward completed his brace in the 57th minute, seemingly putting the hosts in control. However, Sunderland refused to surrender, and just two minutes later, Brobbey completed his sensational hat-trick, reducing the deficit to a single goal.
The visitors continued searching for an equaliser, but Erling Haaland eventually settled the contest in the 81st minute. The Norwegian converted Josko Gvardiol's cross, with VAR overturning an initial offside decision to confirm the goal. Manchester City held on to secure a spectacular 5-3 victory and maintain their perfect Premier League record.
It is worth noting that Manchester City have now won all five of their opening Premier League matches and lead the standings with 15 points, three clear of their nearest challengers. Meanwhile, Haaland's goal against Sunderland means that the Norwegian has now scored against all 25 teams he has faced in the Premier League.
