Brian Brobbey has produced an extraordinary performance against Manchester City, turning a Premier League clash into a spectacular seven-goal thriller.

Details: The Sunderland striker scored a stunning hat-trick against Manchester City in the fifth round of the English Premier League on September 20. The Dutch forward found the net three times at the Etihad Stadium, refusing to let the hosts pull away despite their impressive attacking display.

Brobbey opened his scoring account in the match in the 12th minute, responding almost immediately to Enzo Fernandez's opening goal for Manchester City. The Sunderland forward struck again in the 33rd minute, bringing the score to 2-2 after Rayan Cherki had restored the hosts' advantage.

However, Manchester City continued to find the net. Antoine Semenyo scored twice, in the 43rd and 57th minutes, giving the home side a 4-2 lead.

Just two minutes after Semenyo's second goal, Brobbey completed his hat-trick, reducing Sunderland's deficit to a single goal. By the 59th minute, the scoreboard read 4-3 in Manchester City's favour, with the Dutchman responsible for all three of his team's goals.

It is worth noting that the previous Premier League meeting between Sunderland and Manchester City, on January 1, 2026, ended in a goalless draw. This time, Brobbey alone managed to score three goals against the Citizens.
