Cameroon's professional league kicked off on Saturday, 24 January 2026. The opening match saw Unisport take on Aigle Royal at the municipal stadium in Bafang.
To add glamour to the event, Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, was of course in attendance. The former Indomitable Lions, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea player took the ceremonial kick-off in front of a supportive Cameroonian crowd.
Eto'o, with the ball at his feet, performed some superb technical moves on the pitch at Bafang Municipal Stadium. These moves showed that the former Cameroonian striker still has the same fire in his legs as when he played for Barça, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
