What a mistake by Donnarumma! Nicolas Jackson completes a brace against Manchester City. VIDEO
Nicolas Jackson made Villa Park erupt again — and this time Gianluigi Donnarumma gave him a helping hand.
Details: Nicolas Jackson scored his second goal of Aston Villa's Premier League clash with Manchester City in the 60th minute. Ibrahim Mbaye burst forward down the right flank and sent a low pass into the penalty area, where the Senegalese striker met the ball first time.
The finish appeared relatively comfortable for Donnarumma, with Jackson's effort travelling almost straight at the Manchester City goalkeeper. However, the Italian failed to deal with it properly: the ball went through his hands and crossed the line, putting Aston Villa back in front at 2-1.
Jackson had already opened the scoring in the sixth minute after taking advantage of a mistake in City's defence. Manchester City responded shortly after the break, when Erling Haaland headed home an Iliman Ndiaye cross, but the visitors were level for only a few minutes before Jackson struck again.
It is worth noting that Jackson entered this round with two goals in six Premier League appearances for Aston Villa. After his brace against Manchester City, the Senegal international has four league goals in seven matches. He has also scored three times in the Champions League this season, including a brace against Fenerbahce.
