What a humiliation! England destroy Croatia away and rewrite history
Rijeka turned into a historic nightmare for Croatia.
Details: England demolished Croatia 7-0 away from home in the third round of the UEFA Nations League, producing one of the most astonishing results in the national team's recent history. The Three Lions also became the first national team ever to score at least five goals in an away match against Croatia.
Thomas Tuchel's team had effectively decided the contest before the break. Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka all found the net in a devastating first half. England did not slow down after the interval: Kane and Saka completed their braces before Morgan Rogers added the seventh goal late on.
The final score made the evening even more painful for Croatia. A 0-7 defeat is now the heaviest loss in the history of the Croatian national team, surpassing the previous unwanted record that had stood for eight years.
Before this match, Croatia's biggest defeat was the 0-6 loss to Spain in Elche on September 11, 2018. England have now gone one step further, handing the hosts an unprecedented seven-goal defeat on their own soil.
It is also worth noting that Kane created another piece of England history during the match. According to Opta, he became the first player to score at least 10 goals for the Three Lions in three different calendar years: 2019, 2021 and 2026.
Reminder: Keeps rewriting history. Kane sets another record for England
